If you know how to find your way around network using the local trail map, you will do ok. The MOMAR map has nuances that will test your cognitive skills. The trek section will not be marked, but parts of the biking section may be. So, practice your map-reading skills and always know which way is north.
There are checkpoints along the course. If you miss a checkpoint or get lost, stay on the trails and use your whistle to signal for help. We’ll send out search and rescue if necessary.
Yes, to ensure everyone is off the course by 5:00pm, there will be cut-off points at specific checkpoints. Review your race map for details. If you don’t meet a cut-off time, you’ll bypass certain checkpoints.
BOATS AND KAYAKS
Any non-motorized, non-oar-locked boat is allowed. You can use kayaks, canoes, surf skis, outriggers, or SUPs. Inflatable and recreational kayaks are NOT permitted due to speed concerns.
You can bring your own or rent one from a local supplier. Most racers rent from our preferred kayak suppliers. Learn more about kayak rentals.
TEAM INFORMATION
You can enter as a solo racer, team of two, or team of four for the Enduro 50K. Only teams of two are allowed for the Sport 30K and Quest 20K courses.
