Mind Over Mountain Adventure Challenge

What is the Challenge?
The Mind Over Mountain Adventure Challenge is a way to experience the MOMAR in your own unique way. Starting Thursday, September 24th, 2020, the Challenge Passport will be sent to all registered participants that details what teams are required to complete over a 72-hour period. Like the MOMAR, you won’t know what is specifically required, but know that there are FIVE stages with each containing various challenges. You can expect to mountain bike, trek and paddle, of course, and many other fun challenges.

Challenge Results:
The results have been tabulated and only two people (Ben and Rich) completed all 32 checkpoints. Congrats to everyone who took on the challenge!

How can I register?
To sign up for the Challenge, please click this link and enter your team information. Be sure to decide on a team name and know your teammate’s shirts size before you sign in. Registration close will on October 21st November 9th.

When does the Challenge begin and end?
Teams can schedule their 72 hour window anytime between Friday, September 25th and Monday, October 26th November 9th, 2020 (Yes, we’ve extended the deadline a few weeks!).

Do I have to have to do all of the stages and challenges?
No, you can do as many or as little as you like. Some teams may not be able to paddle for example so you can skip that stage and work on doing something else. There’s more than enough challenges to pack into 72 hours.

Where can I do this?
You can complete the Challenge from anywhere in the world. You plan your adventure on your favorite trails or take a road trip and explore a new set of trails in a new community. Use apps like Trailforks or Alltrails to help plan out your route once you know what the Challenge requires in terms of time and distance. Or you can check out our page of historic race maps and do the Challenge on an old MOMAR course.

Can I sign up solo or as team?
Yes, you can register solo or as a team of 2 or 4.

If we sign up as a team, do we physically have to do the stages/challenges together?
No, you can do the stages/challenges remotely, but you just have do it within the same 72 hour window. If that’s not possible, then you should register solo.

How much does it cost?
The registration fee is $50/racer. Please note that registration is subject to GST (5%) and a third party charge from RaceRoster.

What do I get with my entry?

  • The secret Challenge Passport containing your list of stages and checkpoints
