The MOMAR historically sells out very fast, so we encourage you to register as soon as possible! Your fee includes the adventure, an official t-shirt, sponsor swag, a 16oz ceramic finisher mug, refreshments, a hot dog, a glazed donut from the Cumberland Bakery, food truck dinner ticket, and a chance to win prizes from our sponsors. IMPORTANT RACE DETAILS
The Ins And Outs Of MOMAR
race format
All race distances are approximate, and the exact course route and order of the race stages will remain a mystery until race day. Distances for trekking and biking will likely be split into multiple stages.
navigation
Teams will largely self-navigate from checkpoint to checkpoint, though some sections of the biking course may be flagged.
time limit
All teams must cross the finish line by 5:00pm or face disqualification. There will be a series of time cut-off points to ensure racers make it to the finish line by the deadline.
race package
The Racer Information Package will be available one month before the race. You can refer to the 2024 edition for details about last year’s event.
team format
Any gender combination is allowed on teams.
racer age
Racers must be 18 years of age on race day. If racers are under 18, they must get permission from the Race Director and a parent or guardian.

What To Expect at MOMAR
Friday September 19 2025
5:00 – 9:30pm
Friday Night Mandatory Registration at Cumberland Village Park.
Pick up your race package and MOMAR 2025 t-shirt. Your package includes a letter from the Race Director that will provide very important information about the race and bike drop location. One member from your team can check in the entire team.
Enjoy cold beer on tap from Cumberland Brewing, live music, food trucks, and lawn games. Protect the forest! You can also support the Cumberland Community Forest Society through cash donations.
SATURday September 20 2025
6:45 am – Bike drop opens and shuttle bus service begins
7:45 am – Enduro 50K course maps released
8:30 am – Enduro 50K race briefing
8:45 am – Group photo of racers and volunteers
9:00 am – Enduro 50K race starts
9:05 am – Sport 30K course maps released
9:45 am – Sport 30K race briefing
10:00 am - Quest 20K course maps released
10:30 am – Sport 30K race starts
10:30 am - Quest 20K race briefing
11:30 am - Quest 20K race starts
12:00 pm - Finish line festival opens (bar opens, food trucks, music, massage, expo)
1:00 pm - First teams expected to cross the finish line.
4:00 pm - Dinner service begins at Cumberland Village Park
5:00 pm - Course closed. Anyone crossing the finish line after this time is disqualified.
6:15 pm - Awards Dinner at the Finish Line in Cumberland Village Park
9:00pm - The Official MOMAR After Party at the Waverly in Cumberland.
Get ready for the ultimate dance party at the 2025 MOMAR After-Party, back by popular demand at the Waverly Pub in Cumberland! The night will be electrified by a legendary cover band, playing classic hits and sing-a-longs that will keep the dance floor alive and kicking all night long. MOMAR racers and friends have an exclusive chance to grab tickets before they’re released to the general public. Ticket details will be announced closer to the event.

MANDATORY GEAR LIST
Stay Safe and Prepared with Mandatory Gear
Surprise gear checks will take place along the course, and failure to bring any required item will result in a 5-minute penalty per missing piece.
Each racer must have the following:

Emergency blanket (space blanket) or large garbage bag

1L capacity-minimum water bladder

One extra long-sleeve synthetic shirt
Enduro 50K and Sport 30K Only:

Boat (kayak, surfski, canoe, paddleboard, outrigger) – max two racers per boat (no inflatable or recreational kayaks permitted, as they are too slow).

Coast Guard-approved life jacket - Type III or better. Self-inflating belt-style life preservers are not permitted.

Certified bike helmet (Certified CSA or equivalent)

Mountain bike in good working condition (no e-bikes allowed)
Each team must have the following:

Bike repair kit (includes spare tubes, chain repair kit, tire levers, pump). Quest racers excluded.

Secure Your Kayak Early for a Smooth Race Day
Don’t wait until the last minute to book your kayak! Rentals fill up fast for the upcoming season, so secure yours in advance to ensure a seamless race experience. Check the current availability of rental boats in this Google Doc, created and regularly updated by Shane (thank you!).

Kayaks must be delivered and set up by 7:30 am, as the race begins at 9 am. Note: For 2025, you can now triple-book kayaks for Enduro 50K (9:00 am), Sport 30K (10:30 am), or Quest 20K (11:30 am) races.
